Paul Gilleran Volunteers with A.P.T. to Succeed Program

On May 3, 2010, Attorney Paul Gilleran volunteered in the annual A.P.T. to Succeed Program at Larson Middle School, Troy, Michigan. All 8th graders are interviewed by Troy Chamber of Commerce volunteers in a 15-minute interview. During the interviews, volunteers ask students questions about items presented in their academic portfolios and their career and academic aspirations.

Paul notes that some students have career aspirations centered around their sports activities. He helps them to come up with a "Plan B just in case." For instance, one student really wants to play professional hockey, but if that doesn’t work out, he’s decided he would enjoy being the architect who designs new hockey arenas. "It's a rewarding and gratifying experience to work with tomorrow's leaders."
