Taiwanese manufacturer of aftermarket collision repair parts in a
lawsuit brought by General Motors Corporation which was filed in
the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. GM
attempted to use trademark law to limit the competition, but it
didn’t work. For additional publicly available

Bill Coon recently advised and
assisted a client in connection with the negotiation and closing
of a multi-million dollar Technology Transfer Agreement with a
Korean company. The technology will be used by the Korean company
in the manufacture of wheeled military vehicles.

Tom Martin and Mike Hamburg assisted the
management of a manufacturing company client, in purchasing the
company’s stock from its European parent company.

Bill Coon represented a group of secured lenders in
the foreclosure of intellectual property assets of a startup
software company and the ultimate disposition and sale of assets.

assisted their client, an automotive parts manufacturer, in the formation and
capitalization of a joint venture limited liability company that will
manufacture specialty chemicals for the foundry and automotive industries.

Dean & Fulkerson remains active in
mergers and acquisitions, recently handling the sale of Northwest
Propane, Inc. to Inergy Propane.
Northwest is one of the largest independent retail propane
companies in the Midwestern United States, and served an estimated
25,000 customers from 17 principal locations.
Jerry Byrd, a principal at the Firm, handled the
transaction. His team
included five other partners, Janet Lanyon (benefits), Jim O'Brien
(environmental), Don Pierce (real estate), Keith Aretha (tax), and
Bill Coon (Hart-Scott-Rodino).

Read Cone successfully defended a large automobile
parts manufacturer in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern
District of Michigan in a case that involved a former supervisor
who claimed race discrimination and violations of the Fair Labor
Standards Act.
