Janet Lanyon Elected to Great Lakes Area Tax Exempt/Governmental Entities (TE/GE) Council

Janet Lanyon has been elected to the Great Lakes Area Tax Exempt/Governmental Entities (TE/GE) Council. The Council was established in January 2001 and consists of a select group of benefit practitioners who represent taxpayers in the seven states covered by the Great Lakes Area of the Internal Revenue Service TE/GE Division. The Council opens and maintains lines of communication between the IRS Great Lakes Area TE/GE Division and the practitioner community as to tax policies and procedures related to employee benefit matters. Members of the Council provide input to the IRS on various matters, ranging from policies and procedures to specific tax issues. Members must be nominated by a current member of the Council and have demonstrated professional competence to contribute meaningfully to the fulfillment of the purposes of the Council.
