US Citizenship and Immigration Service has launched a virtual assistant feature, “Emma”, on their website, www.uscis.gov. Emma allows customers to quickly find information on a wide variety of topics related to U.S. Immigration. She answers questions in plain English, as well as navigates queries to relevant USCIS web pages.
Currently the service is available on desktop and laptop computers. USCIS is working on expanding to mobile devices (cell phone, tablet). In addition, Spanish language capabilities will be introduced next year.
Emma’s capabilities and knowledge base are query driven, so the more questions asked of Emma, the larger the database becomes, increasing the speed, accuracy and efficiency of answers.
